What is a Y-type strainer
Y-type strainer is an important filtering device in the pipeline system for medium transmission. It is often installed at the upstream of hydraulic control valve, pressure reducing valve, relief valve, constant level valve or other equipment to remove various particulate impurities in the fluid medium and provide protection for the valve. Y-type strainer is mainly composed of main body, filter basket, flange and fastener. Applicable medium can be water, oil and gas. Generally, the water supply network is 18~30 mesh, the air supply network is 10~100 mesh, and the oil supply network is 100~480 mesh. The Y-type strainer can be installed vertically or horizontally in the pipeline. During installation, ensure that the impurity collection basket is located below for easy opening and maintenance.

Function of Y-type strainer
The pipeline Y-type strainer is mainly used to filter out various impurities in the fluid, prevent particulate impurities from entering the downstream valve, causing permanent damage or wear to the valve, and protect the safe operation of the downstream valve. The liquid in the pipeline first enters the filter. After passing through the filter screen, the liquid flows into the downstream valve, and impurities remain in the filter. Y-type strainer is characterized by advanced structure, small resistance and convenient sewage discharge. When cleaning is needed, just take out the removable filter cartridge and reload it after treatment.
Installation method of Y-type pipeline strainer
Y-type pipeline strainer has three installation methods: flange connection, butt welding connection and threaded connection.

When installing the strainer, you must pay attention to the flow direction of the liquid to avoid incorrect installation of the strainer.
